My outside HVAC sounds is making a high pitched sound?

My HVAC unit seems to be failing. It starts up, make a very high pitched sound. The fan does not appear to be hitting anything. The air handler is not blowing any air, as I suspect it’s waiting for the outside unit to produce heat so it does not cold air.

any thoughts? The unit is about 3 years old.

Sounds like the inducer fan needs replacement. I would call the local installer, it might be under warranty.

call company that installed the unit for you if it is only 3 years old maybe under warranty still..

not enough info is, this a split system or a packaged unit ? are you trying to cool or heat ?
