What is the minimum clearance around a HVAC unit (internal unit) needed when building a wall around it?

s.moitra asked:

Hi,

I’m planning to finish my basement and need to understand the minimum distance needed for clearance around my HVAC furnace in the basement, when building a closet to contain it and the water heater.

It will have louvered doors to ensure proper flow of combustible air.

How can I start an HVAC business with my husband as a consultant and employees doing the actual work?

what about government grants? asked:

My husband is a very experienced HVAC technician and we need more income but he doesn’t want to leave his current job for the government since it is enjoyable hours and nice benefits. I am wondering if I can start an HVAC business and hire techs to do the actual labor and my husband can be a consultant resource. Do I need an HVAC license to actually own the business even if I am not doing any hands on work? What if my husband has the license? I would be the business manager and scheduler.

In a split HVAC system, won’t the compressor perform better in full shade than on a rooftop in direct sun?

voss001 asked:

All things being equal in a hot climate (Southern California) will relocating the compressor of a split HVAC system from the rooftop where it’s in direct sun all day long to an area where it is shaded (but still totally open to air) all day long be an improvement? If so, how much? (generally)

The lineset will go from being 6 feet to about 30 feet, but will be totally in shade also at all times.

How easy is it to move a HVAC unit in your basement?

Michelle C asked:

I’m planning an upcoming basement remodel and of course the HVAC unit is smack in the middle of my basement! I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the cost/difficulty in general of moving such a unit around to another part of your basement (preferrably closer to a wall, to maximize usable space)!

Am I about to make my electric bill sky-rocket? (I pay for it in my utilities.)

I live in an apartment with one HVAC heating and cooling unit. I was away that one single day they did the annual maintenance for this year. I’m almost certain it hasn’t been maintained for several years.

And what do the service guys do exactly?

I know my proprietor won’t do this another time awaiting at least next year and I don’t have any cash to pay someone.

My contractor does Gas Furnace Repair Richmond.

Cannot understand issues regarding ApplianceZone.Com (via postie)

Confused about the issues talked about Appliance Zone, I have four or five time from that company and never had a problem.

I unfailingly determine the smallest charges haulage and on two occasions received my parts the next day. They seem to be a reasonable operation.

I prominent that all the chat operators seem to have American names so I highly doubt that they have their consumer tribute sent oversees to India or Pakistan as so many added companies do.

I also see they have their own race car so I don’t see how this mob can be a scam as a person former mentioned.

I’ve heard many individuals leave bad reviews about this appliance zone complaints and I have had none of this at all.

Can climate control systems/HVAC be installed in ANY structure?

Kristen asked:

I am toying with the idea of building a large structure similar to an indoor horse arena/equestrian facility and would like it to be climate controlled. The builders I am looking at do not offer any sort of HVAC with their structures so I’d have to get it done separately. My question is, can HVAC systems be installed after the structure has been built or must it be “built in” to the structure during the initial construction?

Thanks.

What does the average HVAC unit cost for a 1900 Sq Foot House?

Diane asked:

What does the average HVAC unit cost for a 1900 Sq Foot House? Just the outside unit. I am considering buying a brick rambler, but the A/C flow in the basement is very very low. Let’s assume the worst case scenerio and a better unit is needed. Thank you for any projected cost estimates.
